Lola: Personal Assistant with Avatar Interface

Description
The LOLA project, the Personal Assistant, consists of the technological design and development of a multifunctional communication system, in a modular fashion, to facilitate the subsequent inclusion of applications and services conceived for the elderly and people with disabilities, and that can be operated using an Avatar type interface that manages the user’s commands via voice recognition, and if needed, other devices adapted to the user’s needs (touch-screen, Braille keyboard), for the establishment of a new channel of communication and management of services from the home (personal contacts, specialised support and assistance, collecting pensions, purchases, orientation, etc.)
Utilising the latest technology in a completely transparent way to the end user, as a platform of communication and establishing multiple lines of help and assistance to people in their homes.
In agreement with the necessary requirements for the execution of LOLA, Personal Assistant, the corresponding methodological approach to the general proposal is organised in the following general layout:
- Phase 0. Organisation and the launching of the project - Work Network Structuring
- Phase 1. Definition of Technical Specifications - Avatar; HW and SW; Video Conferencing; Telephony
- Phase 2. Design and development of the technological platform - Cooperative Work Group
- Phase 3. Design and Development of Client Applications – LIVE!!
- Phase 4. Elaboration of conclusions and continuity proposal
